If your Surface Duo isn’t performing as expected, or if you plan on giving away or selling your device, it would be a good idea to perform a factory reset to restore Surface Duo to its original settings.
Restoring is fairly easy process, but there are a few things you need to do and keep in mind prior to performing a factory reset. Read on to learn more.
Backup your data and settings
This is vital if you intend on keeping any content and information you have stored locally on your device. This includes any contacts, documents, photos, music, videos, and app backups.
I recommend downloading the apps of your favorite cloud storage services like OneDrive or Google Drive and uploading your content to them. Many of these apps have features to automatically upload your camera roll.
You can backup your device data and settings by going to Settings > System > Backup and making sure Back up to Google Drive is selected.

Step 2: Open Settings, then navigate to System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
Step 3: Select Erase all data
Step 4: Enter your device PIN code, and once again, select Erase all data to confirm that you want to proceed.
