According to Venture Beats interview with Microsoft’s Don Mattrick (President of the Interactive Entertainment division), or less officially the “Xbox boss” stated in an interview that Halo 4 “will work with Surface”. That quote went on to create a tidal wave of speculation on the internet that Windows 8 will run the Xbox exclusive title.
It wont.
Note that Mattrick said “with Surface” rather than “on Surface” presumably referring to Microsoft’s recently introduced SmartGlass concept that will work cross-platform providing interactive content as a companion tool. Very much like what the company demoed at E3 2012.
